Vaccine-Induced Immune Thrombocytopenia and Thrombosis and Its Afermath
Gaslighting, Disability, Ostracism, and More
A recent paper by British researchers published last week in BMJ Open described the trials and tribulations experienced by individuals who developed Vaccine-Induced Immune Thrombocytopenia and Thrombosis as a result of the covid shots.
Vaccine-Induced Immune Thrombocytopenia and Thrombosis is a devastating condition characterized by unremitting headache, backache, abdominal pain, chest pain, leg swelling, breathlessness, seizures, and disturbed consciousness. This condition may lead to intracerebral bleeding, which carries a high risk of death. The long-term sequelae may include limb weakness or paralysis, dysphasia, chronic headache, pulmonary embolism, myocardial infarction, hepatic hypertension, and chronic fatigue.
The study comprised fourteen subjects, all with a confirmed diagnosis of VIIT, recruited from social media, including a Facebook group for sufferers of this condition. Researchers conducted extensive interviews with all fourteen participants and analyzed the conversations for recurring themes.
You might think the medical profession would express special solicitude for individuals who took the shot in good faith, believing it would help protect their fellow citizens from debilitating disease and death. You might think that – but you would be wrong. Participants in the study reported inability to access treatment, gaslighting by medical professionals, censorship of social media posts, and even ostracism by their own families.
Despite the life-threatening nature of this condition, most subjects did not receive urgent admission to hospital but instead had to try repeatedly to seek treatment. When they did final access care, often their symptoms were ignored or dismissed. “Oh, everything’s fine, it’s not vaccine related,” one was told. Another was admonished “It’s fake news, it’s impossible,” and had her abdominal pain diagnosed as “gas.” The next day this same patient checked herself into the emergency room and again was diagnosed with “gas” and prescribed antacid tablets. Subsequently she was contacted by her ER doc who thoughtfully informed her “Your platelets are really low, so just be careful. If you cut yourself, you might bleed to death.” She was not admitted to hospital until two days after that.
Patients reported being gaslighted by medical professionals even after being released from hospital. One was told her fatigue and headaches were caused by “Long Covid,” even though she has a confirmed diagnosis of VIIT and no history of covid infection. Another was told her migraine and headaches were the result of her “addiction” to painkillers, and that she needed to stop the drugs immediately.
All of the participants had been working before their injury; however, as of this time, only three had returned to work, and one more was actively seeking employment. The average age of participants was forty-four years, and some were in their thirties.
Many of the participants had experienced significant physical disability and financial loss, unable to handle rent or mortgage payments. Other losses described by the participants included loss of independence, loss of future income and career, loss of social and family engagements, and loss of physical fitness and abilities.
More than a year on, most subjects had yet to receive compensation from the Vaccine Damage Payment Scheme. Any such payments they ever do receive will be deducted from their future disability benefits.
Participants also reported that their social media posts regarding VIIT were removed, and Facebook groups they had set up to discuss the condition were dismantled.
Perhaps most disturbingly, all participants reported denial of their condition by friends and family, many of whom told them their complaints were due to “Long Covid.” “You get treated like an insane anti-vaxxer,” one participant noted. One case resulted in complete disconnection from the family members involved. Perhaps most disturbingly, one subject was described as having placed herself in “purdah” after her release from hospital, stating:
I felt like I could not talk to people about it, because I didn’t want to put people off the vaccine at the time.
The researchers concluded:
These results highlight the need for government and relevant other bodies to disseminate accurate information and encourage engagement in vaccination programmes, while simultaneously avoiding the spread of misinformation and allowing people who suffered life-changing adverse reactions to be heard.
Apparently stopping the shots that cause that cause these devastating harms is not on the table.
